Love this program, but I struggle with getting all the parameters set up properly.  For example, I happen to have the last 3 years of overall points for my league and based on those results I can tell that there are on average 5 QB's, 6 RB's, and 1 WR  in the first round--4 QB's, 4 RB's, 4 WR's in the second round, 4 QB's, 6 RB's, 2 WR's in the 3rd round, and etc. etc.  I can take this through 10 rounds if I want.

I think this info is very, very valuable.  I should be able to capitalize on this.

How can I use this info in your program?  Like how should I set up draft priority or roster allocation?  I have run this program for about 3-4 years now but I never know if I have these things set up properly.

Notice above because of our point structure we are not RB heavy like most leagues.  That's why I like your program because I can tweak it.
Thanks for your help.

I would suggest letting the program run an 'auto-complete' through the first 3-4 rounds and then checking the lower right-hand display where you can see the total number of players taken at each position (toggle off the graph to see the actual numbers).

Then use the 'Draft Priority' settings (move positions up/down, change '% better to override) to dial-in the predictions so that subsequent 'auto-completes' get closer to your historical data.

To get even more precise, stop on predictions that you question and click on the note icon.  A popup will be displayed that shows the thought process behind the prediction including how the draft priority was applied.  You can see the affect of changing the '% better to override' numbers in this note as well.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick.  I really, really like this program but I'd also like it to function the way I need it to.  Over the years I have tried tweaking those percentages till I was blue in the face!  I'm the commissioner of my league so when I draft I'd like it to be on auto-pilot if I can.  I'll try your suggestions.  Thanks again!

Once again thanks!  Took me about 4 years but I think I finally understand what's going on with this program!

Robert,

I've been going back and forth for the last week trying to get this just right.  It's driving me nuts!

If I give you my dp file and the number of qb's, rb's, wr's for each round would it be too much trouble for you to tweak the draft priority for me?  I'm guessing you could do it in a couple of minutes since you know the program inside and out.

Sure.  I'll do my best to map the players drafted at each position by round to the draft priority.  Though I do think you would be better suited for the task since you have experiece drafting with these owners.

These guys are pretty crafty.  I wouldn't begin to try to predict "how" they're going to draft. For me, it's just a numbers game.  For example, I know that we've pretty consistantly draft 14 QB's, 14 RB's, and 8 WR's in the first 3 rounds and I don't see why that will change this year.

Thanks a lot or offering to help.  Which files do you need and where can I send them?  We're drafting tomorrow night.  Hope you can work it into your busy schedule.
